The journey of Rauwerk started back in 2015 when Christine Biedermann was offered fleece from an organically certified Merino flock, based just outside Munich.  Friends of hers had this flock for as long as she can remember but since no one was interested in paying for the fleece anymore, they asked whether she'd be interested.

Christine's heart didn’t have to think twice, however it took her a few months to see if she could make it work. Then she found a family run mill nearby in the Chiemgau Alps able to spin the yarn, and confident in her product and the supply chain, she set up a small shop in Munich. Always looking for new ideas, Christine just recently found a small dyeing company based in the Allgaeu Alps which use natural dyes to create her new range. Therefore, the provenance of the sheep and each step of the production of the yarn is fully transparent and all within less than 2 hours drive away from the farm. Amazing!!!
